A car accident in Colorado recently led to the arrest of one man on charges of driving under the influence. The allege DUI/DUID/DWAI accident happened on a recent Thursday. This rollover wreck occurred a little past 2 a.m.

Police said the man’s pickup truck left the roadway and ended up rolling. It then landed on the sidewalk on its roof. Two individuals were thrown from the vehicle, while two women remained trapped inside the truck.

All of the people in the truck were taken to the hospital. The driver, 26, was evaluated by authorities before they arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, as well as vehicular assault. The lanes going east on the road where the collision happened were shut down during the police investigation.

The man facing DUI/DUID/DWAI charges has the right to go straight to trial if he believes this is in his best interest. The prosecution in criminal court has to prove the charges by presenting relevant and proper evidence and, only then, can the man be convicted in Colorado. In some situations, the weight of the prosecution’s evidence suggests that pursuing negotiations for a plea deal is a wiser move than going to trial, as such a deal could lead to reduced charges or a lighter sentence from the court in Colorado. The criminal defense for the person accused of DUI will push for an outcome that is most beneficial for the defendant, while also making sure that all his or her rights are protected throughout the entire criminal proceeding.
