There are many different signs that a person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Unfortunately, a person exhibiting symptoms that could be interpreted as intoxication could actually be suffering from an unrelated medical condition. However, when a car accident happens at a certain time of day or night, police in Colorado and other areas of the country are often quick to suspect DUI.

A 20-year-old man in Colorado is now likely trying to decide how to respond to allegations that he was driving under the influence. Police say that the young man first came to their attention when he allegedly struck a fire truck. He is then said to have sped toward two police officers and struck several more vehicles before he was taken into custody.

Police believe that the young man’s vehicle struck several other cars before they noticed him. In all, they claim that 14 cars were hit before he stopped. No injuries were reported. He has since been arrested, suspected of several crimes including reckless driving, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence.

Because of the number of the allegations he faces, the young man could face serious consequences if he is ultimately convicted. Fortunately, there are attorneys in Colorado who have experience with a variety of different cases involving DUI charges who can ensure that the young man is able to make informed decisions about his case. Having such a professional on his side can also provide some peace of mind as he navigates the criminal justice system.
