Two Colorado accidents that took place within 30 minutes of each other reportedly involved drunk driving. The rollover accidents happened early in the morning on a recent Monday. These alleged DUI crashes happened along Highway 82.

The first accident happened at around 1:21 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found a sport utility vehicle lying on its roof. The vehicle was in the median of the highway. The 37-year-old man who was driving this vehicle ended up being charged with driving under the influence as well as careless driving.

The second accident took place at about 1:50 a.m. A police officer who was assisting with the first rollover crash responded to the second one and found a 33-year-old man walking alone along a road. The man admitted to police that he had been drinking and driving. His car was sitting on its wheels but appeared as though it had rolled over. The man allegedly failed his field sobriety tests and ended up being charged with careless driving and driving under the influence as well.

Both men have the right to proceed directly to trial to vigorously fight the Colorado DUI charges. They may also be given the chance to plea bargain with prosecutors, which may offer the benefit of lighter charges and thus a reduced sentence compared with what they might receive if convicted at trial. The criminal defense will push for the most favorable outcome for the client in each case and strive to ensure that their rights are not violated during the criminal proceedings.
