Anyone who has driven late at night is likely aware of the additional challenges that drivers face. Reduced visibility, for example, may make it difficult to see a person or object in the road in time to properly respond. Unfortunately, Colorado police have now charged a man with vehicular homicide following an incident that left a pedestrian dead.
The incident reportedly happened during the early morning hours of a day in late October. According to reports, three pedestrians were attempting to cross the street. Unfortunately, police say that a pickup truck struck two of the pedestrians. One, an 18-year-old college student, passed away while the other suffered minor injuries.
Police claim that they were able to identify the truck involved, then the driver, even though they say the driver failed to remain at the scene. The suspected driver, a 27-year-old man, turned himself in just days after the accident. Many of the details of the accident are unclear, including whether the pedestrians were in a crosswalk and whether the area was well-lit.
